Debunked: Top 3 DIY Wedding Myths

So you’ve chosen to DIY your wedding maybe because you may be on a budget or your family and friends said that they’ll support and help you.

You’re excited and Pinterest is your new best friend.  Whilst this is an exciting feeling,  balancing your multiple DIY projects and managing your daily routine work and bridal decisions can be overwhelming.

Here we explain our top 3 DIY Wedding Myths Debunked.

  1. WEDDING PLANNING IS STRESSFUL

While there can be truth to this one,  it definitely doesn’t have to be the case!

There are tons of information both free and professional guidance available that we share and our friends within the events industry.

Choosing the right resource for your needs can make your journey a worriless experience!

  1. DIY WEDDINGS WILL SAVE YOU MONEY

In the age of Pinterest, DIY seems the best option for everything because it’s personalized and cheaper than buying or hiring a professional.  However,  this isn’t necessarily true.

I don’t know about you but when I decide to make something sometimes it cost more and time in making it than actually purchasing the item.

Another instance is not accounting for items needed which adds up to your expenditure and when you’re done your time has been wasted with the disappointing result which hurts your budget.

If you’re a DIY queen, go for it.  But before you put in the time and resources needed for your DIY project,  compare that against the price of buying the same thing or hiring a professional to do it for you.

  1. HIRING YOUR LOVED ONES IS THE SAME AS HIRING PROFESSIONALS

Your friend might have amazing photography or organizational skills but that doesn’t mean he or she can or should be in charge of your precious day.

While there’s something to be said for having friends help you with your big day,  you don’t want them to miss out on the ceremony or reception because they’re busy setting up food or running around trying to organize things.  Not to mention risking forgetting a key part of action.

You won’t get the same results as you would from a professional who does this for their livelihood.
